Dai Jones
Biography
London-born farmer, singer and presenter widely regarded as a national treasure in Welsh-speaking Wales.
His broadcasting career spanned nearly 50 years with most famous TV shows the long-running programme visiting Welsh farmers, Cefn Gwlad, and the know-your-partner quiz Sion a Siân.
Dai retired from broadcasting in December 2020 following a long spell of illness. He died in March 2022, aged 78.
Trivia
Commonly known as 'Dai Llanilar', after his home farm in Ceredigion.
In 2024, S4C renamed its building at the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwedd in his honour - 'Corlan Dai Llanilar' (Dai Llanilar's Sheep Pen)
