Based on a Japanese format created and hosted by Hitoshi Matsumoto called Documental or in its full title Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental for Amazon Prime Video.
Trivia
The UK's version was the 23rd for Amazon Prime Video and the 28th overall; the Iranian and Russian takes had been made for other streaming services, with terrestrial TV channels airing the Albanian, Turkish, and Tunisian versions. Amazon followed its initial derivative (made for Mexico and broadcast in 2018) with versions for Australian, South African, Canadian English, and Irish audiences, which were respectively hosted by Rebel Wilson, Trevor Noah, Jay Baruchel, and Graham Norton.
