Synopsis
A rock and pop quiz, played between colleges and universities throughout Britain. Teams of three took part in a knockout tournament. Unlike on University Challenge, polytechnics competed against universities.
The winners played a challenge against other Radio 1 DJs, Mike Read, Paul Gambaccini and John Peel.
The Radio Times doesn't tell us which student team won, but it does tell us the semi-finals. Bristol Polytechnic v Aberystwyth University in one, St Andrews University v Newcastle Polytechnic in the other.
Trivia
The contest went out in the last half-hour of Kid Jensen's afternoon show on Radio 1.
