Biography
BAFTA and Oliver Award-winning actress who got her start with the Royal Shakespeare Company before becoming a household name in the classic sitcoms The Good Life and To The Manor Born. Later sitcoms included Executive Stress, No Job for a Lady and Next of Kin. She wasn't tempted back to sitcom since the latter was axed in 1997, and continued to perform on stage. She later carved out a niche doing countryside travelogues for Channel 4.
She passed away in June 2026 at the age of 86.
