  • Masterchef The Professionals (RTÉ1, 11.50am) Concluding the 2022 series.
  • Hot Takes (Radio Ulster, 1.30) Danny O'Carroll and Jordan Arnold.
  • Gladiators (BBC1, 5.45; Scotland, 7.20) The grand final, finding the champions. Followed by a classic episode of The Wheel.
  • Stephen Mulhern's Celebrity Catchphrase (ITV, 5.50) Samia Longchambon, Amy Dowden, Will Best join Stephen Mulhern
  • Got Talent (ITV, 6.45) Auditions return to Blackpool.
  • Celebrity Sabotage (ITV, 8pm) This week, Olivia Attwood is the guest sab, while Emma and Matt Willis host a fake show for couples. Followed by a classic 1% Club.

Sunday 29 March – The Shortest Day

Clocks go forward an hour overnight. We lose an hour's sleep, but it'll be light till about 8pm.

  • Give Us a Clue (Talking Pictures, 3.30) Repeated from 1985: Michael Aspel, Faith Brown, Bobby Davro, Russell Harty, Jan Leeming, Libby Morris.
  • Counterpoint (Radio 4, 4.30) The grand final. Specialist subjects have been often rejected, such as Bristol Trip Hop, and Rare Breeds of Poultry.
  • The Amazing Race Down Under (E4, 6.25) A trip to Kerala, and a fascinating discussion about the west coast canal system, which sounds like a show with Michael Portillo.
  • Y Talwrn (Radio Cymru, 7pm).
  • Y Llais (S4C, 7.30) Heat 4.
  • The Money List (RTÉ1, 7.30) The show we knew as Who Dares Wins.
  • An Deis (TG4, 7.30) More six-sided fun.
  • Celebrity Bake Off (C4, 7.40) Molly-Mae Hague, Richard Herring, Jo Jo Siwa, Babatunde Aléshé.
  • The Hunt (C4, 9pm) Ruthlessly rounding in on one player.
  • Mock the Week (TLC, 9pm) Last in the series.

Daytime

  • Bargain Hunt (BBC1, 12.15) New on Mon (wooden antiques highlights) and Fri (Shepton Mallet).
  • Countdown (C4, 2.10) The guest is Mike Bubbins.
  • Four in a Bed (C4, 5pm).
  • Pointless (BBC1, 5.15 weekdays) New ep on Friday with Gethin Jones.
  • Come Dine with Me (C4, 5.30) Sheffield.

Monday 30 March

  • Unspeakable (Radio 4, 6.30) New words with Ivo Graham, Harriet Kemsley, Nish Kumar.
  • Mastermind (BBC2, 8pm) Semi 4: George Frideric Handel, films of Christopher Nolan, Hannibal, US Masters golf 1990-2025.
  • University Challenge (BBC2, 8.30) Group stage, matchday 10.
  • The Hunt (C4, 9pm 10pm) Predator turns on predator. Such is this show's success that it's been moved an hour later to, er, give the other shows a chance.

Tuesday 31 March

  • Home of the Year (RTÉ1, 7pm) Dublin extension, Donegal manse, Kilkenny self-build.
  • Slé Anois go Cúramach (TG4, 7.30) Rockbrook Park School, Dublin vs Ramsgrange Community School, Wexford.
  • Mas Fhior (BBC Alba, 8.30).
  • The Hunt (C4, 9pm 10pm) Seven remain, and the rules change a bit.

Wednesday 1 April

  • Great Local Menu (BBC2, 6.30) Ulster this week.
  • Celebrity Lingo (ITV, 7.30) Charlotte Hawkins and Sean Fletcher play Fay Ripley and John Thomson.
  • Survivor (TG4, 11.30) "operation Italy".

Thursday 2 April

  • Last One Laughing (Amazon) still waiting for Jimmy Carr to say something worth laughing at.
  • Great Local Menu (BBC2, 7pm) A roast chicken inspired by Murder on the Orient Express. We cannot make this up.
  • Race Across the World (BBC1, 8pm) More travelling shenanigans, this year starting from Palermo and aiming for outer Mongolia.
  • Harry Clark Goes to Rome (BBC1, 10.40) Not a game show, though with someone who came through our halls. The star of The Traitors takes a deeply personal journey from Slough to the Vatican, in search of answers about belief, identity, and what it means to be a good Catholic in the modern world. Will he get an audience with Pope Leo?

Friday 3 April – Good Friday

  • Great Local Menu (BBC2, 7pm) Lisa Barros d'Sa is this week's guest judge.
  • Have I Got News for You (BBC1, 9pm) Roy Wood Jr chairs the pro-establishment show, with Armando Iannucci and Anushka Asthana.
