Y Deis

Welsh-language game combining general knowledge, strategy and luck.

Three pairs start. The first round is the traditional on-the-buzzer "light the bars on your podium"; it's 18 points to proceed with the value of each question decided by the dice.

Second round, each remaining pair gets two goes in control. The two differently-coloured dice allow for 36 possible combinations, and a grid shows which combos are still available and what they're worth, from £40 to £200. Roll the dice, answer the question, take the money, go again. Pairs can end their turn and bank their money at any stage; a wrong answer or rolling a combo that's already gone brings their go to an immediate end and loses any unbanked money. Three of the combos are "bonus boxes" which allow the pair to steal the value from their opponents' bank but also ends their turn there; they can reject this and just play on, but the steal's probably going to be worth it most of the time.

Top-scoring pair get whatever money they finished with, with a potential jackpot on top of it, determined by the dice, natch. Regardless of how they dress this up, it's basically "score six each in three minutes to win".
